Add, import and export customers

Everyone who books through your website is added to Customers for you, with their job history. Search by name, phone or email at the top.

Add a customer

1. In Customers, press Add customer.
2. Fill in Name, and the phone, email, address and notes you have.
3. Tick the box saying they agreed to service reminders and offers only if they did.
4. Press Add customer.

Import from a spreadsheet

1. Save your list as a CSV file. Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks, Jobber, Housecall Pro and most other tools can export one.
2. In Customers, press Import and choose the file. It can be up to 4 MB.
3. Check the preview. Zome finds columns like name, phone, email, address and notes. Rows with no name, phone or email are skipped.
4. Press Import customers.

People already in Zome with the same phone or email are updated, not duplicated.

Marketing permission on import

If your file has a consent column, like "opt in" or "marketing", you can tick the box confirming that the people marked "yes" agreed to reminders and offers, and that you can show how if asked. Leave it unticked and everyone comes in without marketing permission. Imported customers can still get review requests after a job. An import never signs up someone who unsubscribed.

Export your list

Press Export on Customers to download a CSV file of every customer, with whether and when they agreed to marketing. Only the account owner can export.

A customer's page in Zome

Open any customer to see their jobs, invoices, requests, reviews and messages. Edit their details on the right and press Save. From the top you can Call, Ask for a review or Add job.

Delete a customer

If a customer asks you to delete their details:

1. Open the customer and press Delete this customer at the bottom of the right-hand column.
2. Type their name exactly as shown, then press Delete for good.

This removes them and their requests, calls, messages, jobs, estimates, invoices and reviews from Zome. It can't be undone, so export your list first if you need the records for taxes. Only the account owner can delete a customer.
