Who gets marketing
Service reminders, win-back notes and campaigns only go to customers who agreed to hear from you. A customer agrees when:
- they tick the box for reminders and offers when they book on your website
- they tell you, and you tick Agreed to reminders and offers on their page in Customers
- you import them from a file with a consent column and confirm they agreed
Every marketing text ends with "Reply STOP to opt out", and every email has an unsubscribe link. Customers shows who is Opted in.
Messages about a job the customer booked, like confirmations, visit reminders, review requests, estimates and invoices, aren't marketing. They don't need this permission.
Service reminders
- In Website, on Services and prices, set Remind customers every on a service, like Year.
- When you mark a job for that service done, Zome works out when it's due again.
- Opted-in customers get a reminder with a link to book that service, 14 days before it's due.
To change the timing, go to Follow-ups, Automations, Service reminders, and set Days before it is due. No reminder goes out if the customer has already booked that service again.
Win back past customers
Win back past customers sends a friendly note to opted-in customers you haven't worked for in a while, at most once a year each. It's off until you turn it on in Automations. Set Months since the last job, from 6 to 48.
Send a campaign
- In Follow-ups, press New campaign.
- Start from one of the seasonal templates for your trade, or write your own. If you see Write it for me, describe the campaign and press Write a draft. You get a draft to edit. Nothing is sent until you press send.
- Choose Send by (Email or Text) and Who gets it: everyone who opted in, or opted-in customers who had a certain service.
- Write the Message. You can use
{first_name},{business}and{book_link}. Keep texts short. - Press Save and preview, check the preview, then press the send button.

If texting and email aren't connected yet
Messages wait in Follow-ups under Ready to send. Send each one from your phone with Open in Messages or Open in Mail, then press Mark sent. Or press Skip.
