Your booking form tells customers they can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Automatic texts, like reminders, end with "Reply STOP to opt out." The texting service answers STOP, START and HELP automatically.
STOP
When a customer replies STOP, or a word like UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT, texts to them stop, and Zome records it on the customer:
- They get no more reminders, win-back notes or campaigns.
- You can't text them from Zome. A reply from the request shows "They texted STOP, so texts to them are blocked. Call them instead."
- Messages about their own job, like review requests, estimates and invoices, go to their email instead, if you have it.
- Customers shows them as Unsubscribed.
A STOP never starts a new request or sends you an alert.
START
If they reply START (or UNSTOP), the block comes off and texts can reach them again.
HELP
If they reply HELP (or INFO), the texting service sends its standard help reply. The text is kept on their thread, but it doesn't start a request or send you an alert.
Email unsubscribes
Every reminder and marketing email has an unsubscribe link. It stops service reminders and offers. Messages about a job they book still reach them.
Customers can also press Stop reminders on their own customer page. See Your customer's page and referral links.
