Get a Zome number
The Zome team sets up your number. Ask for one in Ask the Zome team. Once it's set up, Settings shows "Your Zome number is ..." under Phone.
Choose how calls reach you
In Settings, under Phone, pick one and press Save settings:
- Use my Zome number as my business number. Your website shows your Zome number. Calls ring your phone (the Phone under Business) for 20 seconds. If nobody picks up, it's a missed call. Put the same number on your Google profile.
- Keep my own number. Your website keeps showing your number. Set your phone to forward calls you don't answer to your Zome number. Open How to forward unanswered calls to your Zome number for the dial codes for AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and other carriers.
To test it, call your business number from another phone and don't answer. The call should show in Inbox, on the Calls tab.
Missed-call text back
When nobody answers:
- The caller gets one text with your booking link, once texting is connected. They get at most one every 12 hours, however many times they ring.
- The call lands in Inbox as a Missed call request, so you can call back.
If texting isn't connected yet, the text waits in Follow-ups under Ready to send.
To change the wording, go to Follow-ups, Automations, Missed-call text back, and edit The text callers get. Zome fills in {business} and {link}, and adds "Reply STOP to opt out." at the end. Use the switch to turn it off.
The calls log
The Calls tab in Inbox lists every call to your Zome number as Answered, Missed or Assistant took a message. Press Add as request to turn a call into a request.
Settings, under Connections, shows whether your Zome number is connected.
