The first row of your CSV should be the column names. Zome matches them without caring about capitals or order.
| What | Headings Zome recognizes |
|---|---|
| Name | name, full name, customer, client, contact, display name. Or first name and last name in two columns (first, given name; last, family, surname). |
| Phone | any heading containing phone, mobile, cell or tel |
| any heading containing email | |
| Address | street, address, street address, address line 1, service address, billing address, plus city or town |
| Notes | any heading containing note or comment |
| Texts agreed | a heading like sms consent, text consent, text opt-in |
| Marketing agreed | a heading containing consent, opt-in, subscribe, marketing or newsletter |
The first matching column is used. A consent column counts as agreed when the cell says y, yes, true, 1, x, opted in, subscribed, agreed or accepted.
Limits
- The file can be up to 4 MB.
- A row needs a name, an email or a phone number with at least seven digits. Others are skipped. Zome uses the email's first part as the name if the name is missing.
- Invalid emails and phone numbers are dropped.
- Up to 5,000 rows are read.
- People already in Zome (same phone number or email) are updated, not duplicated.
Consent
Only fill the consent columns for people who really agreed. Texts go only to people your file marks yes in a text-consent column. See Why are my imported customers left out of campaigns?.
Do it
See Add, import and export customers. If you see "We could not find any customers in that file", the first row isn't column names or the file isn't a CSV.
