On launch day, customers pay you directly: cash, a check, a bank transfer, or any way you agreed. Zome keeps track of it. Card payments through Zome aren't switched on yet, and everything else about invoices works.
Tell customers how to pay
- Go to Settings and find Getting paid.
- In How customers pay you, list only what you really accept, like "Check payable to Harbor Plumbing, or cash on the day."
Your customer's invoice page shows this under How to pay. If it's empty, the invoice says to pay the way you agreed, with your phone number.
Record a payment
- Open Invoices and press the invoice.
- Choose Paid by: Cash, Check, Card, Bank transfer or Other. Card here records a payment you took yourself, outside Zome.
- Add a note if you like, such as a check number.
- Leave the box ticked to send the customer a receipt.
- Press Record payment.
The invoice shows as paid.
If you got it wrong
- Recorded by mistake: press Mark unpaid.
- To cancel an invoice: press Void. The customer's link then says it was canceled.
- Paid and voided invoices can't be changed.
See what's owed
Invoices shows Waiting to be paid, Past due and Paid this month, with tabs for Unpaid, Paid, Drafts and All.
Reminders
If an invoice is still unpaid three days after its due date, the customer gets one friendly reminder. Invoices due on receipt never get one.
See Invoices, payments and reminders for how to write and send an invoice.
