Card payments let customers pay an invoice by card from their link. The money goes to your own Stripe account. Stripe's card fees come out of each payment. Zome adds nothing and takes nothing from it.
Only the account owner can set this up.
What you see today
Settings lists Card payments (Stripe) under connections. If Zome hasn't switched card payments on yet, Card payments on invoices says "Not live yet. Until then, invoices show how customers pay you, from Getting paid above, and you record payments on each invoice." Everything else about invoices works.
Once it's available
- Go to Settings and find Card payments on invoices.
- Press Set up card payments. Fill in Stripe's form: your business details and the bank account for payouts.
- If Stripe needs more, you'll see "Stripe still needs a few details", and the button changes to Finish setting up with Stripe. Pick up where you left off. Press Check again to see the latest.
- When Stripe approves you'll see "Stripe approved your account. Customers can now pay your invoices by card."
- Make sure Turn on Pay by card has been pressed. You can switch it off any time with Turn off Pay by card. You'll see "Pay by card is off on your invoices".
After a customer pays
The invoice marks itself paid, the customer gets a receipt, and you're notified. Payouts, fees and refunds are in your Stripe dashboard.
Deposits and plans
When card payments are on, deposits on accepted estimates and maintenance-plan members can also pay by card. See Send an estimate and get it accepted and Maintenance plans, members and sign-ups.
