A Google Business Profile is free, and it is how many customers find a local business on the map. If you don't have one linked, Google and listings shows Create your Google profile, a five-step guide.
You create the profile on Google. Zome gets your details ready to paste and checks them afterwards. Zome does not create, claim or change your profile. Nobody can promise a position or a date, including us.
1. Check if you already have one
Google often makes a listing from public information. If yours is there, claim it instead of making a second one.
- Press Search Google Maps for my business.
- If your business is there, open it and choose the option to claim or manage it.
If Zome's automatic lookup is switched on, it can also look for you. If it isn't, search Google Maps yourself.
2. Copy your details
Start at business.google.com/create. As Google asks for each item, press the copy button in Zome and paste it. The sheet has your business name, main category, address, service areas, phone, website, hours and a description. All of it comes from details you confirmed in Zome.
- Name: exactly as it is on your website. Don't add towns or services to the name. Google can suspend a profile for that.
- Main category: pick the closest match in Google's own list. The wording there changes now and then.
- Description: written from your services and towns only, with no years, awards, ratings or promises. Read it and add anything true in your own words.
If a detail is missing, the sheet says where to add it: your hours in Settings, your towns on Website, your website once it is published.
3. Have photos ready
The guide lists what a complete profile needs: your Logo, a Cover photo and 5 or more photos of real jobs. It shows which you already have in Zome.
4. Verify your business
See How do I verify my Google Business Profile?.
5. Paste the link back
- Open your business in Google Maps and press Share. Copy the link.
- In Zome, paste it under Link to your profile on Google Maps and press Save my profile link.
Zome accepts links to your own Maps listing. If it says the link isn't a Google Maps profile, copy it again from Google.
After that
The card changes to Your Google profile with Linked. Press Check my Google profile (when it appears) to compare it with your website. See How does the Google profile check work?.
Then add your Google review link so review requests work. See Add your Google review link.
