The free report looks at your website and your Google presence the way a customer on a phone would. Then it gives you a score out of 100 and a list of fixes.
The three categories
| Category | Points | What it looks at |
|---|---|---|
| Search results | 40 | How easily Google finds you and understands what you do, and where. For example your page title, search description, main headline, service area, services and town pages. |
| Website experience | 40 | What a customer on a phone sees, and how quickly they can call or book. For example secure connection, mobile setup, tap-to-call, a quote or booking path, speed and trust details. |
| Reviews & listings | 20 | Your Google profile and reviews, and how they show on your site. For example your Google review link and your social profiles. |
The grades
Each category and the total get a grade:
- Great: 85 to 100 percent
- Good: 70 to 84
- Fair: 40 to 69
- Poor: 0 to 39
- Not checked: when none of its checks could be run
Skipped checks
When something can't be measured, the check is marked skipped, taken out of the score and explained in a note. A skipped check doesn't count against you. The score is then worked out from the checks that did run, so a total can be based on less than the full 100 points.
The fixes
Fixes are sorted by how much they matter: High priority, Worth fixing and Small win. Start at the top.
It isn't a ranking
The score is a measure of your online basics. It doesn't tell you where you appear on Google, and nobody can promise a position.
On your Home screen
After your website is published, Online health score on Home runs the same checks on your live website. Press Check my score, and Check again after you've made fixes. See What is on my Home screen?.
