The editor saves as you work. If a save doesn't work, a banner marked Not saved appears under the top bar for as long as the problem lasts. The top bar's own status also says Not saved, and it is hidden on a phone, so the banner is what you see there.
It couldn't reach the server
The banner says "Could not reach the server. Your changes are kept here and we keep trying." This is usually your internet connection.
- Keep the tab open. Your changes stay in it.
- Press Retry, or wait. The editor tries again by itself.
- When it works, the banner goes away and the status says Draft saved.
Another tab or device saved first
The banner says the page was changed in another tab or device. See What if my website was changed in another tab?.
A page that is on your website has nothing written
A page that is shown can't be left empty. The banner says to write something, or hide the page. Press Hide page, or write under at least one heading. Your website still shows the last saved version.
Something is too long
A title, heading or text may be past the limit. The banner says which. Shorten it and press Retry.
The page is gone
If the page isn't on your website any more, press Reload.
Leaving with unsaved changes
If you try to leave while changes aren't saved, the editor warns you first: "Your latest changes could not be saved yet. Leave anyway and lose them?" Choose to stay, and press Retry.
Still stuck
Ask in Ask the Zome team and include what the banner says.
