If the same page or website is open in two tabs, on two devices, or by two people on your team, the second save would quietly replace the first. The editor doesn't let that happen. It stops and asks you.
What you'll see
The Not saved banner says: "This page was changed in another tab or device. Reload to see the latest, or keep your version." For the home page it says "Your website" instead of "This page".
Your two choices
- Reload shows the latest saved version. Whatever you typed in this tab that wasn't saved is lost, so copy anything you want to keep first.
- Keep my version saves what is in this tab over the other one. Do this only when the other version is out of date and you mean to replace it.
Before you choose
- Copy anything you typed in this tab that you want to keep.
- Open the other tab, or ask your team who changed it.
- Decide which version is right.
Add, hide or rename pages
While this message is showing, showing, hiding or renaming a page asks you to settle it first. Publishing waits until your changes are saved.
How to avoid it
Edit in one tab at a time. If you edit on your phone and your computer, close the editor on one before you open it on the other.
