During launch, a person at Zome looks at each new website personally before it goes live. This stops anyone from publishing a website as a business they don't run.
What you'll see
When you press Publish website for the first time, the editor tells you your website is saved and private, and that you'll see the result in your Activity feed (and we'll email you too, when email is switched on). On Home, a note says Your website is in review.
What stays the same
- Your site is saved and private. You can keep editing.
- You don't need to ask. You'll see the result in your Activity feed.
- Building and previewing are free, with nothing to approve.
How long it takes
During launch, Zome staff check each new site personally. No time is promised.
What it applies to
Only the first publish of a new site. Once a site is live, your edits go out as you publish them, with no check.
While you wait
- Connect your domain. See Connect your own domain.
- Set up your Google profile. See Create your Google Business Profile.
- Add services, towns and photos.
- Check the preview on Mobile.
If it takes longer than you expected
Write to Ask the Zome team and we'll look into it.
After approval
Your website goes live at its free address, and at your domain once that is connected. Edits you publish after that go out straight away.
